Eye Care

A photographer’s eyesight is obviously pretty important. So we looked long and hard to find a great optometrist. We found two! That was about eight years ago now. Wow! Dr. Hutter and Dr. Nakabayashi, a husband and wife team, have been great (not to mention a bit nutty like us!). It was crazy trying to schedule their session. Their last family picture was when the kids were tiny! What a busy family!

By the way, I still haven’t decided on a bag (see last post)! What’s a girl to do??!!

The Honeymoon is Over

Wedding Photographers are notorious for having a love-hate relationship with their camera bags. I’ve been through so many bags over the years. Last year I found a bag that I was actually happy with for the longest period of time! It’s my Mountainsmith Focus Bag. bag0.jpg

I loved that it fit two lenses and a flash and had a few other pockets. I loved that it was light and not overly padded. But I didn’t really like the “look” and color of it. But still … I had a love relationship with that baby for a long time. Now the honeymoon is coming to an end. :( It’s the seven month itch. I need my space! And his look isn’t working for me anymore and the complaining about the lack of attention I’ve been giving “it” lately. It’s just not working anymore. Heck … I just want something new! So I’ve been checking these guys out:

This is the new Boda Bag by Jim Garner, a talented and hilarious photographer from Washington. (Even though I don’t know him personally … he cracks me up! I love anyone who cracks me up.)

Anyways, this bag could be “The One” because it looks like I’d have my space!

Okay and then there’s this bag by Jessica Claire, another talented photographer!

You can’t really see it that well but I did see it at the WPPI convention and it’s nice and lightweight, not too heavy on the padding (a plus to me) but has lots of room. Oh and there are these different colored flaps that make it “look” cool. The look of this bag definitely puts it in the running for “The One.” I mean, we’d look great together! Don’t ya think? I’d have my space and a great looking “one” by my side!

And finally there is this baby … probably my least favorite today, but tomorrow is a new day! Fickle me. This is by Lowepro and it’s called the Slingshot.

So help me out here peeps. I want them all for a period of time and then I’ll decide. My friends say that’s “just wrong.” My husband says I can’t either. :) I think I need therapy.

More From Nevada

After the WPPI and DWF Conventions we were off to take some photos of the Lopez family in Green Valley, which is in Henderson, Nevada. We were driving from one spot to another in their neighborhood, even the areas that were still under construction. At one point, we even had security after us. Good thing the guy was nice. We had a great time. The boys were surprised that they had fun at a photo session. I’m only going to post two images since they haven’t seen any yet. Tomorrow we leave Nevada and head back home. Yay!
