Sign Language is such a wonderful skill to have! It’s great when I can sign to my kids from across a crowded room to “Sit down, close your mouth and pay attention!” It’s even better when they actually do it!
I wish I taught more ASL (American Sign Language) to my children … I guess it’s never too late. My younger ones are starting to create their own signs and they expect me to understand what they are saying. I think I have to teach them now because … the signs they are creating could have people wondering what kind of mother I am!
Well, I was able to practice my ASL at a wedding recently since the Bride and Groom were hard of hearing. Edgar and Heidi were married at The Reef in Long Beach. They were such good hearted people to work with and I had a lot of fun with them … although I learned that it’s really hard to hold two cameras and use sign language at the same time. Oh and I loved Heidi’s shoes!! ![]()
